I would want a gunblade class and it would fit in with the lore cause not only do we have did and his crew but there is also Nero who (if not dead) we will most likely save and I am sure he will be more than happy to share some information since he is an enguneer and a soldier

None that are known of.

In the Might&Magic games a lot of the "magic" was actually technology left by aliens. No history of that in Final Fantasy though. There are creatures from alternate planes but they don't bring technology. The tech is usually leftovers from a previous society that collapsed and is often a tool of the bad guys. The general feel, as I remember, is that technology leads to a disconnect with the natural world and the imbalance causes the downfall of society. Not that technology itself is bad but the inevitable way societies use it is.

The Goblins are pretty smart fellas. I mean it's thanks to Mutamix that we know how to harness materia. It feels like Eorzea is severely lacking in techonological advancements honestly.

The Garleans are waaaay ahead of us and so are the Goblins. What have we been doing all this time?

Technological development is not a one way street, various branches develop independent of eachother. Garleans for example have no caster classes.
