ps4 license

whats the best way to obtain a ps4 license, my wife purchased a copy off of digital river and the product key didn't come in until several days later. i currently have a pc license, and want to get a ps4 license, and see no reason why it should take them more than a few minutes to automatically email a product key in response to a purchase.

also, if i bought it off the ps4 store (digital download) would it give me a code to use on my account, or would it be bound to my playstation plus account

The only ways I have purchased a digital copy licensed for the PS4/PS3 is through the playstation store. Are you sure that digital river sales the PS4 version? There are three different versions of the game (PS3, PS4, PC), each with three different licenses. I have all three licenses on my account--I had to purchase the game three times to do so. Digital copies for the PC are available through other vendors such as Steam, Amazon, etc, but I did not think that a digital version was available for the playstation from anyone besides Sony.

As for if the game is bound to the playstation account that purchases it via the playstation store I do not know as I have only ever purchased on the account I intended to use, but I would assume so. You can choose which SE account to bind it to, but once bound that SE account and PS account can not be unlinked. Even if your wife does not play other games, it would be best for her to have/create her own playstation ID to link to her own SE account.

It would be bound to the PSN account you bought it through (doesn't have to be the paid plus version of a PSN account). But even if you buy it elsewhere and get a code, you'll need to bind that code to your PSN account to use it. (For instance, I bought a boxed copy that came with a code. I had to enter that code into the PSN Store to tell Sony about it and it became linked to my PSN account. Then the linking of my PSN account to my SE account coordinated that info between Sony and SE.)

This is true of both Playstation versions, PS3 and PS4. They have to be linked to your PSN account, and if multiple people in your household want copies, each person needs their own PSN account (as well as their own SE account).
