I second that. What lazy design! Looks like the guy responsible for copy-pasting the zones in FFXIV took a second job as a product designer at Elecom.

There's also a bluetooth mouse that isn't listed there for some reason. The keyboard has a dock for your authenticator so that it doesn't get lost.

A basic keyboard with no extra keys, no media control buttons, no LCD and it's only feature is that dumb dongle slot?

Read that last sentence as being really put off and slightly offended. When blizzard contracted out to make their WoW keyboard, it was cool and had features. This one doesn't. I think it really shows you how backwards squenix really is.


If squenix really cared about the players and delivering something worth buying, it'd at least have enough G keys like the G510 where each one was automatically keyed to one of the macro slots. Instead they try to pawn off a $12 dollar keyboard with FF slapped on it.

To be fair, I highly doubt SE commissioned these products to be made. It's more likely the Elecom themselves saw an opportunity to sell some simple accessories by piggybacking off the hype of what was expected to be a big title. (keep in mind these were announced prior to the game's retail release). The company probably just licensed use of the logo to see branded product. SE only likely cared that it didn't fall apart in your palms, not that it was as awesome as a logitech G19 or what have you when allowing the rights.

People who think the keyboard doesn't work correctly, are you from other mmos of FFXI? Cause I played XI on compact keyboard and I think minor things should be changed with XIV's set up, but I think its works rather properly. Not being able to map stuff does suck, but I don't want this like wow with its ridiculous key mapping. I wonder if people confuse "not liking the controls" with "not working properly"

That's exactly what I did with my security token, albeit improvised. Super Glue for the win. I would love to get that keyboard if it were wireless.
