I see display mode says 32 bit, its a 64 bit version of win7 though, does that have anything to say?

Also try taking Aero off Win7 and turn it to windows Basic mode. it can use 20% of ur GPU. Also whats ur # of procesess on start up? If you have more then 60+ that aslo could be the issue as well.

I had the same problem last summer with a GTX260 and almost the same set up:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz

I removed the steel case over my tower,put my fan to maximum speed and cleaned all the dust: i left the tower open with the steel case off, that way the parts get more cooler air. Since, I didnt get any more screen freezing or error msg31000054874 etc, or black screen from overheating .
