Can people slow down for newer players?

I just ran Castrum Meridianum as part of the duty roulette. There were new players who hadn't yet beaten it. In the beginning someone said for people to speed run and skip the cut scenes, as they can watch them in the inn. My response was "or don't" [skip the scenes]. It's not as if these players did not pay for this game, thus, shouldn't they be able to enjoy the content in it? I understand people have done these quests and dungeons a number of times, but is it possible to show down sometimes and allow others to learn and enjoy the game? I engender when I first ran it, I skipped the scenes until someone told another player the same thing I said today.

I know this is basically a rant and might even be posted in the wrong forum section, but seriously can we do better as a gaming community? Can we be (God, this is a bad word) NICE?

    That is all.

We refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

Are people who don't want to run castrum for any reason at all ever again, not polite, because they are choosing to enjoy their game time the way that they want to?

You'll spend most of your life waiting on many different things. And maybe this is just me, but waiting is not usually one of the aspects of gaming that I enjoy.

I'm not really sure if you're agreeing with me or not. My point, if I made it unclear, is that if there are people who want to enjoy the content of this game then let them do so. It shouldn't be default that every dungeon group must speed run always and newer players must keep up no matter what.

It would be better if people that just started hit level 50 now. Leveling in this game was too damn fast. People hit fifty thier first week playing game. It was terrible. So these people have been running these things for months that's why people don't wait. If asked I will slow down for someone tho no problem

All you can really do is lead by example. I always encourage new players to enjoy the cutscenes, even if some other veterans are being rude about it. We are all playing a videogame... so they can wait a few seconds for someone to finish with a cutscene. -_-;; They are already getting a nice bonus from the roulette... what more could they have to complain about?

First time i did CM and Prae, it happened to me.

Castrum was a mess, everyone sprinting to all the objectives and me just trying to catch up when im watching a cutscene. Prae was -ignore all mobs- and -sprint to boss-.I dont got much reason to complain since they helped me to clear the game.

Seems like PC players got high end rigs since they insta load after skipping? I gotta wait a good 5-10 secs for the game to go back to the dungeon and I've been threatened to get kicked if I didnt skip ._.

Yea, i did watch the scenes at the inn but jeez, couldnt they make 2 kinds of instances for the Main Scenario dungeons of Prae and Castrum?

Like, instances reserved for first timers and/or non-story cleared players and others for players after clearing the game. It would give new players breathing room to enjoy the story at their leisure and the others to farm more time effectively. My 2 cents on the take

I was in a group, and there were 2 vets who were guaranteed they could solo everything, but there 5 new players, & I knew how awful being rushed there was.

Ended up kicking the more vocal one, and the other DPS shut up after that and let the new players actually enjoy it.

My thoughts are that those who want to do speed runs to form their own group.
Were you the healer for that run? I would of waited for the new players and just left the ones in a hurry run ahead.
    Let them die, lol
Sadly there is maybe 1 cutscene total i have looked at because of hearing about attitudes.
It is not the same at all looking at the inns afterwords

Actually I was a SMN for that run. The new people were bard and dragoon. The 1st fight we almost didn't get in because of a tank who pulled while they were in cut scene. If that had happened again and they not make it I would've done nothing. Is never a good practice to start a fight when 3 out of 4 damage dealers aren't present.

    However, it didn't happen again.

You could use the party finder to find people that don't care if they have to wait. Just today, I recruited through party finder for Haukke Manor Hard and I explicitly said that we don't skip cutscenes and you can learn the dungeon at your own pace. Within 20 minutes the party was full. People got to see the Cutscenes in the context of how they are supposed to be viewed, and I was able to share my knowledge of the dungeon. Gave me the warm fuzzies.

When you go through DF, it's a crap shoot. If you are worried about drama, just use the party finder and let your intentions be known before people even join.
