Just RNG lol

Let's share all those times the RNG has blessed us... Or screwed us over. I'll start us off.

Crafting the Ixal items at coerthas, and here's my three attempts at "A High Wind in Ishgard".

1. %81 quality, no HQ (unlucky but it happens)
2. %95 quality, no HQ (dafuq, is this like an atma bad luck)
3. %99 quality, no HQ (... Flips Titan)

Now the good.
Melding a giantsgall longsword to desynth. Melded all forbidden melds with no failure, with %35, %22 and %13.

Failed 7 Steady Hand II + Hasty Touch in a row.

Probability of that is 0.00128%, if I'm not mistaken.

The bad:
Desynthing i55 PvP accessories for demimateria, 97% success rate, 5 of 22 fail. (If I remember my statistics correctly, the probability of that happening is astronomically low.)
I own (and have seen) a total of two pieces of High Allagan for BLM (my main). I have 5 for WHM (my sub, I believe I'm the only healer secondary in my static) and 1 for DRG. (Not sure if this is actually a bad thing, but I would like to see more loot for the class I actually intend to play for endgame)
Farming Thornmarch (Hard) before 2.2, trying to get a Mogblade for my leveling PLD. At least half the party was my FC, they knew I wanted it, and rolled against me...I had to see the weapon drop FIVE times before I actually won the thing.
(This wasn't me) WHM in static got Stardust 9 times in a row. She wasn't pleased about it XD

The good:
One time back when first Coil was on lockout...won 5 of the 6 pieces of loot from T1-4, I think at least 3 were off of greed rolls. Felt kinda bad about it afterward, but nobody really had any hard feelings since we'd still poke fun at another person in the static about all of HIS loot.
Farming a second set of Atma during periods of extreme boredom...got 3 in 5 FATEs. (runs far away)
Outrolled someone 98-97 on a wind-up onion knight in Syrcus. (runs even further)

The derpy:
While I was making those i55 PvP accessories mentioned above, I got bored and started using non-Steady Hand II Rapid Synthesis just to see how many fails I could get in a row - most so far was 11. Obviously not nearly as rare as failing 9 80% Hasty Touches, but I found it interesting to hear it blow up over and over again.
FC member rolled 93, said "I'd like to see someone beat this roll"...another person rolled a 97.

Early today, failed 8 straight attempts at grade 3 carbonized matter, at 95% success rate. Oh how I hate the "You obtain nothing" thud...

Failed 8 materia in a row at 45% 45% is pretty easy, I usually get it on the first or second time. Well..not this time

That's some serious RNG, considering it is impossible to get 99% quality. You certainly meant to type 98%, and then decided to up it by one for the sake of dramatic flair?

i remember last October when I was doing some crafting and tried to make a HQ Ash Bow, I made it to 100%, and finished it. Guess what happened? Yep. NQ, which should be IMPOSSIBLE. I was infuriated by it. It hasn't happened since and it is probably ninja-patched since long.

I don't got any proof showing it was %99, so if you say it Is impossible, I'll take your word for it, but I was around 50ish quality away to %100, but memory can be a flimsy thing.

You think it may be impossible to lose to RNG with a %1 fail rate? I mined an HQ Umbral Rock with a %1 HQ chance. Its very whimsy lol
