Might try looking even as early as the Lv15-ish cutscenes to find NPC text in this vein, it's definitely not just from the newer patches.

Yes, true that. I revisited a lot of cutscenes in the inn room, but it is probably dialogue text that isn't in a cutscene that I am thinking of! *madly scours xivdb quest dialogue text...*
