lol What's this? People complaining Batraal is too simply and still haven't beaten it?! No way, not on these forums!
There are multiple ways of playing the game. Because You choose to do it one way or another is not SE's fault. If anything it needs to be easier for the sole purpose of people who Can't understand how to play the game and cannot complete it without the "Throw More Archers" approach.
Learn to Play, then post. Just sayin.
If you take a step back and look at everything for a moment. sure its challenging, but not impossible. theres still atleast 2 major patches left till the new battle system is finished and even then it wont be the end of adjustments. SE put these things into the game, looking at what the game will be like at 1.2 and on. it would be pointless for them to spend days of balancing on this using standards that will be gone within a month or 2, when they can work on what really needs to be done. 1.2 if i recall correctly is alot of revamping on the class system and adding new things of that nature. perfect example: everything looks screwed up with the wrong glasses(current battle/class system) on, put on the right glasses(the proper battle/class sytem intended for it), and everything will look clear as intended.
you guys who are saying it CAN be done with just melee are missing the point, your expecting people to deliberately put themselves at a disadvantage and ignoring the fact that there is a problem..
also if the 5th chest is a speed run with 35min on the clock, good luck doing this with anything less than 3 archers..
I think this whole archer fad is a huge gaff by the battle designer and should have been obvious
even though i have the advantage of retrospect im pretty sure this would have been obvious to me... and i dont do this for a living at a big game company!... maybe they should get someone more talented..
you could say well they arent done designing the battle dynamic yet but saying "lets leave it like this for 3-4 months till the next patch" is not acceptable... thats even if they realised it would be a problem

Ranged attacks being overpowered at a couple dungeon bosses is way down on the list of most obvious design oversights. At launch the whole game was one big design oversight, so I find it kind of silly to latch onto this issue so heavily while the game is still going through a stage of heavy balancing.

I mean, the original vision for the game was clearly an MMO for non-gamers. A game that doesn't give feedback for failure/success, where the players can do whatever they want, with whoever they want, whenever they want. That's why all spells were auto-AoE, why the party seek function was built backwards so the player seeks the party rather than the other way around (no control for hardass PT leaders!) and why the maximum group size was a colossal fifteen (always room for one more!). It's probably also why we have market wards. I mean, people love shopping, right? Why would you ever need to efficiently and quickly get what you need when your gear barely matters and shopping is at least as much fun as battling (pressing 1, 1, 1 and then perhaps 3 for variety)!?
I love the whole "Learn to play" comments that crop up. I know my job, and know it well. But knowing my job and being useful in this dungeon without having to swap to something else for the bosses is something else entirely. The question isn't "Can it be done with Melee or Can't it?" The question that comes up is this. "Why should it be done with Melee if it is ten times easier with archers instead? What is the benefit from taking that risk for same/slightly less damage output?"
I kill Batraal everytime with : gla,3conj,2arch,1mrd and 1 lanc . I don't have any problem. Or i'll kill it with gla-3conj-1pug-1arch-1mrd-1lancer. No ranged, no problems, and we kill it very easily. I don't understand why noob ppl have to complain the raid if they are not able to find the right tactic. mah. i'm sick of all these threads...

i think its funny that glad gets knives when both hands are full of heavy equipment.
It's not easier with ARCs. It's easier if you have players who have no situational awareness. The risk is for greater damage output (hi2u 5th chest). Sorry to disapoint, but ARC isn't your best option for damage. Try more, learn more, talk less.
your still saying its easier with archers airlea because they dont need "situational awareness"?
your the first person ive seen that thinks archers dont do the most damage... a job that can drop a mobs HP by half with their first attack
nothing takes multiple mobs (skeletons) down more efficiently than archers
the point still stands
