ATI Radeon HD58xx series card graphics issues

Wasn't really sure where else to put this. I know many of us were having serious graphics issues with ATI HD 58xx series gpu's at the launch of the game. This has improved slightly over the last year. But I'm still having problems with a good bit of graphics lag, glitches, and a line that appears across the center of the screen.

Wondering if others with these cards are still seeing issues or have found settings by now that cure the hick ups. If you have please post your settings.

As an aside, I'm using the latest drivers and the lag is a graphics issue not network connectivity lag as I have 30MB down / 6 MB up and experience non of the same graphics issues in other graphics intensive games on highest settings.

Thanks in advance for the input.

I'm no expert by any means, though I have the 5700 series and haven't had any of these issues, though I experience random flickering dots when using AA, I usually turn that off anyhow.

Is there any particular area or time that the graphics lag hits? For example, Gridania is bad for this even with being an empty area. Places like the main strip in Ul'Dah tend to have graphics hick-ups due to the large amount of character data to be loaded.

As far as settings, try turning off certain things that really aren't horrible necessary (Ambient Occlusion, Depth of Field, AA, etc.)
If you've done all this, unfortunately I can't be much more help.

The line going across your screen makes me think it may be your card though, are you able to try your card in another system, or try a different card?

"line that appears across the center of the screen" is most likely aembient occlusion. turn it off
i had that problem too and i also have a HD5800.
keep AA to 4 or under for the chop - lag affect
keep drawing quality to 8 - standard

runs like a deam for me now. i only have a slight glitch now.
seems like every time they do an update something new pops up.

kinda makes me mad i bought this alienware new a month b4 CE came out.
not alien wares fault i blame SE for less then par codeing.

anyway let me know how it works out
