Idk they are also in this pre build ffxiv- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgtZvn5c4e4 Which I don't know what happened to that city, it's AMAZING.

That's LL's original design. That's the guild leve building and the long bridge leading to the mainland. I'm guessing they nixed the city detail in order to make it larger and turn into the port it is now.Idk they are also in this pre build ffxiv- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgtZvn5c4e4 Which I don't know what happened to that city, it's AMAZING.
And yeah, snow accumulation would be a nice feature in the future. I just assumed they had snow-making machines in the cities though lol.
Yeah I was pretty let down when I first saw the weather effects in the game since they had hyped up the weather effects before the launch. It would be nice if we could have some volumetric weather effects(snow/rain that is actually there not just drawn on top of my screen) and like water effects on our equips when we are running around in the rain (for 2.0). And for that matter it would be cool if we had some legitimate lightning strikes in the player area (maybe even get an achievement for being hit by lightning lol).

I LOVE the lightning idea hahaha. They could make fun titles about "lightning never striking the same spot twice" for those who get hit more than once too!Yeah I was pretty let down when I first saw the weather effects in the game since they had hyped up the weather effects before the launch. They sort of do the rest though, when it rains puddles are "formed" in some places. I really like that.
I think weather is one of the things FF12 did really well. It was cool coming back to an area you'd visited before, only to discover that it was the rainy season and massive flooding had completely altered the terrain.
It'd be cool if they had multiple versions of some of the maps in 2.0 that change depending on the season. not every zone, that would be entirely too much work.
But imagine how cool it would be if say, the northernmost portion of Coerthas was covered with snow and ice during the winter, but thawed out in the spring. It wouldn't alter the geography so much that places become inaccessable, but perhaps you'd have to take different routes to get where you want to go. There could even be a few nooks and crannies only available during one season.
Probably not gonna happen, but a guy can dream @.@
That would be amazing
Either way, more dynamic anything would be amazing.

The sky does change when you look at it, I haven't personally seen the sunset from there angle, but i've seen a sunset, i've seen the dark rainy sky. You have to look up though to appreciate it, as a mage I'm typically a little more zoomed out and see these things and then tell everyone else so they don't miss it ^^
There is no lightning in the LL area though -.-
