Is this game slowly dying?

So I am going to lvl to 50 and gear my toon just to have the game die and all my time and effort become worthless...

This is a pointless statement because all things come to an end. Effort wasted is all in the way it is translated by the individual. A good example you spend your entire life raising a family and then you die. Well you just wasted your time on life and it was worthless because it ended. You can even be more negative and say that life in general is a waste of time because technical if the lights go out and there is nothing afterwards you never existed.

You could also take the positive side of it and say you lived a good life and have raised your legacy (children) to continue your name and be proud of what you have accomplished even if it's just a small thing.
