SE does need to step up their game though. The status quo and grindfests are the norm lately. Things are too predictable, nothing interesting going on.

Unless the issue is you (which then your only real hope would be to get carried in some way...which also means you won't do well in Coil2...), you need to find better people to play with (FC/LS/friends in general...). Yes, PUGs can suck, but that's why you join an LS or FC...


On another note, if I start leveling ROG/NIN early 2.4 I'll be fate grinding...just like any sane person (dungeon queues for melee are going to be 30-60 mins, guaranteed). Which is, incidentally...not very much different than something apparently everyone hates: Atma. Though probably worse, since you'll be competing to get Gold against 100+ people at once...on Fates that probably won't last 2 mins...yeah...

So I am going to lvl to 50 and gear my toon just to have the game die and all my time and effort become worthless...

The game is barely a year old, even XI wasn't great after its first year. The time is only worthless if you didn't have fun,
I wouldn't worry too much about it & just have fun and if you're not having fun then take a break.

We still have yet to receive our first expansion, don't know why anyone thinks anything is dying right now :/

You're safe then, Balmung is highly populated...So is tons of other servers!
Also, you should really get your Pugilist to level 15 so you can make Bard.
You're level 35 and not a Bard yet...as a matter of fact, you have nothing but Archer leveled.

for someone like me that has all thier jobs at 50 and is stuck on T5 yes it is dying. for 2.4 to breath some life back into it,it has to add ninja and a level cap increase of say 5 levels.

That kind of reminds me, as the game progress they should consider a Story Mode version of Coil once Coil becomes outdated considering once Coil is outdated there will be a lack of groups for players that want to experience the Coil Storyline and that Coil Storyline is a big part of FF14ARR story. Of course they will have to cut out the rewards for Coil Story Mode since it is not Coil Raid Mode.

People saying this game is dying and that there's nothing to do make me giggle.

Warcraft has been in the same patch for over a year now.
The same raid. For a year. Over and over. Not a single content patch to be seen until the next Expac.

I'm glad I'm an RPer, because I have a plethora of roleplay and stuff to do with my friends, and can do the pve stuff at my own pace without the urge to rush. i love it.
