Recruit a friend dosn't automatically put your friend on my server? WHY?

So I had my friend buy the game and subscribe as it was downloading.. Had him put in his recruit a friend code in the Mog Station.. He gets to the character selection screen and BAM.. Wont let him create a toon on my server. You would think they would automatically let you go to the server that gave you the code.

Or.. Are we doing something wrong? Or is this just poor planing with the recruit a friend feature?

Characters can only be made on heavily populated servers when they're not busy - usually around 4-6 am EST, in my experience with Balmung. This has been the case since open beta. Sucks when you want to make a character on those servers, or when a friend wants to, absolutely, but yeah, it's just a case of nothing changing for the recruitment feature, unfortunately.

Wait till the server is at it's off peak time frame. He can make one then. Besides that there isn't much that can be done. I believe they say that in small print in the RaF page.
