Why can't we dye certain gear?

I remember when patch 2.3 was about to launch, we were treated to some great screenshots and a trailer, and in one of those screenshots were Doga and Unei, but before we knew them, I began fantasizing about dyeable High Allagan armor. Why can't we dye our raid gear? If it isn't bad enough that I'm just simply another white mage like everybody else with no differing or unique qualities in-game, I also have to share the same gear, color, etc. as them.

Even if it were dyeable it'd be locked behind a giant paywall like AF Armor Augments. Nothing comes simple or cheap when it comes to vanity in this game.

Eh, at this point there's really nothing to spend money on. I didn't bother with housing because when I got home all the small houses were taken, and I'm not going to spend all my money on a medium house. Plus after playing WildStar's housing, the housing in this game seems like child's play. Unfortunately, that's the only redeeming feature WildStar had to offer. I would gladly spend all my money on dyeing my high allagan gear, maybe even changing the color of the glow on my weapon, anything. After you see everybody with their weapons and gear, you really start to get sick of the color red.
