    Lightbulb Class/Job suggestion

I'm sure your team has plans in the works, and are already working on multiple classes and jobs to roll out in the future. However I think I may have a suggestion that will tickle your Final Fantasy fancy; gunblade and thief sword class!
Think Zidane from FF IX, maybe a thief class, dual daggers or the iconic double bladed thief swords. And the Garlean with their technology, and there already existing gunblades there, is the perfect steep to a gunblade wielding class!
I hope you take a serious look at this and leave me even the smallest teaser

A THF class is coming in the next patch (Rogue), and it uses dual wielded daggers just like Zidane.

As for gunblades, lets' face it, they're just pistols with a blade stuck to them, and given the fact that Musketeer is still dummied out, you're more likely to see MSK added than a hypothetical gunblade wielding class.

Besides, even in the Imperial Army, gunblades are actually not as much as a common weapon as you might think - they're only issued to elite troops and officers like Gaius and his Tribuni, and Centurions. Regular rank-and-file grunts which make up the bulk of the army (most of whom are draftees from conquered nations) carry more primitive weapons which are just the same as what Eorzeans use (bows, swords, lances etc). So it makes the case for a gunblade wielding class for players very unlikely I'm afraid.

And before you pass judgement, there is already at least one gunblade in the game anyway that players can equip with an existing class (although granted the 'gun' component is non functional):

So Lightning's gunblade basically shows that SE are more likely to have gunblades as weapons that can be equipped by existing classes and not make a special class just for that weapon type instead.
