[Suggestion] Chat log Auto hide

I like a clean user interface. No flying texts, no character or npc names, as few as possible "things" all over my interface allowable.

Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 had auto hide chat log, even Final Fantasy XI had an auto hide chat log.

Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn should also have an auto hide chat log.

I'd settle for being able to manually hide and restore it, but yeah, auto hide would be good too.
Oh, and I wish it would hide during cut-scenes like the rest of the HUD does.

I too would love if my chat log would fade away or minimize after a set period of no activity.
Also, it would be nice if my cross hot-bar would auto fade/hide too if I'm not fighting or holding the L1/R1/L2/R2 triggers on my controller. I know there is a setting that makes it so the cross hot-bar only displays when triggers are being held, but I do still need to have my cross hot bars displayed during fights/dungeons. In other words, If I'm walking through town or on my chocobo, my cross hot-bar should hide, if I have my weapon out my cross hot bars should be displayed.

I too try to keep my user interface/HUD layout as clean as possible. There are quite a few things I wish we had the ability to turn off;
1. the huge glowing mid screen pop-ups like "FATE JOINED" "QUEST ACCEPTED" "FULL PARTY"etc
2. Speech bubbles during dungeon fights/primal fights/fates (the text is also in my chat log, I don't need it blocking my view of the battle field)
3. I would also like to be able to adjust the opacity of AoE indicators (they are too bold/bright in my opinion and I would like to tone them down a bit so the game doesn't look so... ugly lol)

There are many different UI options I would like, and this is one of them.

The option to turn off everything except player names is something I want more. I have too many screenshots where I look at the pic and ask myself "who the hell is that?!"
