Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Pretty sure a lot of people consider them one of the best classes.
As a healer.....bards are probably the most annoying piece of crap in PVP
lol this. my SCH used to teach em a lesson..... but ya know..
topic:
BRD is fun but very reliant on distance. i play it when i dont feel like being a punching bag. just stay in range of your healers, sit back and pew-pew.
your best targets are casters, but a handy thing to do is bind a pet when their master is running around..
as for cross class skills.. the slow move from lancer helps and my fave job skill is foes.
1 v 1 i find them to be meh but teamed up with anyone else and they really shine.
BRDs are the best if you are looking to play the most fluid, and easiest, dps class. melee are hindered by moving targets, and everything is always moving. casters are hindered by interrupts and having to stand still to dps. BRDs are not hindered by target movement that much because they can dps while moving, nor can they be interrupted so as far as playability, they're the better dps option.
Main: Pink Logic, Alt: Melie Bugg
Bards have very strong burst damage, and excel at interrupting casts.
One thing to take into account for Bards in PVP, is that their damage dealt is modified depending on their range from the target.
A Bard deals 100% (i.e. normal) damage from about 15/16 yalms away, any closer/further than that and you get an attack reduction; it goes down to about 40% from melee or maximum range.
When fighting Bards, you should try to get in their faces as much as possible; mages sprint towards them and use instant cast spells, Melees jump / shoulder tackle and don't let them escape. If a Bard is defending a flag in frontlines, enter the flag radius and they will have to exit if they want to deal full damage to you.
I don't remember that it work in this way o.O
In a site I found this too
To lower their damage you have to stay FAR from them, stay close to them will cause you die.Archers and Bards have their damage modified by distance in PvP, with shooting at maximum range causing lower damage.
You have the bards that will sit on point and shoot what my bud affectionately calls Wal-Mart arrows, and you have the ones who know ranges to the tee and wreck everything. Never leave home without a good bard.
As a healer, I hate bards. They annoy the crap out of me. Though, not more than dragoons.
As a caster, I either love them or hate them depending on their skill level. There are very few bards that know their stuff, so the ones who aren't that good, I blow away easily as black mage (or summoner too). However, there are some that are great and know their timing down really well, in that they're able to interrupt most casts.
