Returning player questions.

I am returning to FFXIV after a break from the game, at least 7-8 months (I am a lvl 50 monk, I finished the main story content, & the last time I played was definitely prior to patch 2.2.) There are so many changes to the game, with TONS of exciting new content but all this content is also overwhelming. So my question is, what now? Dungeon runs, or primal fights, and if so which ones? I definitely want to continue progressing through the main storyline, but have no idea which quests to start with. I also want to obviously work towards getting the best gear, so what is the best way to do this, focus on earning tomes? Lastly I want to work towards getting my relic weapon (I started the first quest to do this already.) but it seems there were also changes related to this.

Any help/guidance/tips with some of my above questions would be most appreciated.

Best advice I can give ya is to finish your main story quest line with king mog, levi, ramah, ect. so you are caught up on content for 2.4.

For gear I wouldnt worry about that atm since 2.4 is roughly a month away atm so the gear now wont matter once thats out but you can still earn a few pieces of weathered gear (soldier tomes) and syrcus tower gear (ct 2nd stage) to close the gap in difficulty when the new content comes out.

As for relic you will have to do the atam quests I am guessing....... good luck with that, your relic will take you awhile to catch up on. It will be a very long grind.

Best to find someone from your server or a LS that will assist players with info and ask when needed, best way to figure things out.
