It stays in there but you won't be able to wear it unless you change back. Same for race-specific gear.

I'm not certain, but I think that the gender-specific items you would need to trade at the Calamity Salvager can't be put in the dresser in the first place?
And 'normal' gender-specific gear in the dresser would *probably* just stay there, the same as if you had those items in your main inventory. I can't say for sure though.
Assume worst case scenario.
If you are female switch male or vice versa - any gender locked glamours are rendered useless.
You don't lose it mind you....it's just unusable. You will need to redo your glamour plates..and that goes without saying - inventory and such need to be replaced - glamour dresser items however are "Destroyed" when put in the dresser so you can't recover those items <within reason>.
So bottom line - plan accordingly.
To reiterate - you can store the glamour items as you see fit - no reason to delete...but you only get 200 slots of space...and those gender locked items are useless.

I really disagree with the description of the items being "destroyed" when they are put in the dresser. They stop being functional items, but they are still existing for their intended purpose (being applied as glamours). They only need to be destroyed when you wish to delete them from the list of items in the dresser.
I say destroyed because the moment you put it i the dresser...its gone...you can't use it as a item...its just a glamour..and you can't recover it. People tend to forget that detail and end up ranting about it afterwards.I really disagree with the description of the items being "destroyed" when they are put in the dresser. In this context its appropriate...especially if those are mogstation items for a locked gender - you can't get your money back..you can't recover the item....so it takes up glamour dresser space.

"You can't use it as an item... it's just a glamour."
But how does this differ at all from gear that explicitly has no stats and exists only to be used as glamour? What "use" do those items have outside of the dresser, beyond exactly the use they have within the dresser?
Glamours are useless in terms of function aside from glamour.....stats are irrelevant. So yes you have a point.
The main issue is the value - how much it cost to get it/craft it/buy it with real money.
Which is a subjective answer as that changes depending on who you talk too.
If you spent 5 million gil / 30 USD for a glamour piece/set - you'd likely be hesitant to destroy it too. With only 200 slots available in the dresser....you'll end up prioritizing.
Beyond that - yes..its just a glamour. But glamours take space....and space is limited if your a glamour wacko like me. ^_^ (ok i'm a moderate glamour wacko..but you'd be surprised how many go all out..it's the true end game)
this also infers why there are sticking points on the glamour dresser itself. Things SE needs to fix.

I thought at least a GM or someone would answer, i was wrong :/ i really want to change but it seems i will not if i can't get an answer u.u
Anyway thanks for the replies it gives me an idea of what to do for next attires![]()
...you expect a GM to answer within 10 hours? You need to learn a lot about the forums ;D
So, you already got an answer - and probably the only one you'll get even if you dont like it: The items will stay in the dresser, but you can glamour them (or you can, but they wont show and instead give you the hint that the item cant be displayed with your current race/gender).
The only items you can exchange for the ones of the opposite gender are the kind that doesnt go into the dresser in the first place, so this is not different from you having the item in your inventory but arent able to wear it anymore. So any gender-specific item that you put into the dresser would have been useless to you outside of it aswell once you change your gender.
