    Diabolos 3 type Microtransaction system

If FFXIV would put in an Auction House and give players an option of buying with gil (game currency) or crysta (essentially real money obtained from SE) it would give FFXIV a revenue and also eliminate RMT activity thus freeing up a huge department of anti RMT staff. SE could sell crysta directly to the players. This would generate a cash flow for the game and help make a smooth transaction from Free to Play to Micro Transactions. SE would be able to balance it by making Rare/EX items as well as some items that can not be bought/sold via this crysta system. Some people say buying items straight from AH with crysta obtained via SE would give an unfair advantage to players with extra cash to spend on a game. Though it would require less ingame work, making money outside the game is much harder to do. I mean is it harder to mow a yard for 20 bucks or make 500k from sitting in a comfy chair and waiting for a Notorious Monster to show up on a video game?

You assume this will free up RMT activity, but here is what I see happening:

Johnny G. Two-Shoes puts up this neat rare item on AH for $5 US.

Meanwhile, in mainland China, 20 RMTs post said item on AH for $0.50 US.

Suddenly, everyone and their dog receives decent things with no point nor effort, gil is rendered virtually useless (different from now, how? lol.) and the game would be hindered.

    That's what I believe.

Unfortunately Diablo III isn't in line with monthly sub MMORPGs. It's a different style of gameplay in comparison, which is why micro transactions work for Diablo, and not for an MMO like Final Fantasy.

RMT will do what they do regardless. Having an official system for it means SE can track and regulate it. Also it would cut down on all the shady stuff related to dealing with 3rd party sites.

No matter what RMT will exist and do their thing. This wouldn't really make it better or worse, it would just be official.

would rather pay monthly fees than per item.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. all it is is Blizzard saying "RMT is okay as long as we can take a cut" and that's exactly what they do, they take a cut when you list an item, and they take another cut when the item sells, might even be another fee for giving you the money but I'm not sure if I remember actually reading that. Its ridiculous. I never want anyone to make a profit off of an mmo except the company that made it. Seriously you want to read about loser high school and college drop outs who make money via rmting that is sanctioned by the mmo company itself? I don't know I would hate that person, I really don't need more opportunities for low life losers to make money while sitting on their ass doing nothing. I also don't ever want to play a game where someone with lots of real life money buys all his gear and then tries to come to endgame with his basically bough twinked character. BS. Having that game mechanic actually approved by the company that makes your mmo, means people think its ok. I never want to see any micro transactions for this game outside of "buy moogle plushie get in game moogle hat". No to sanctioned rmt, no to item shop, and no to lame ideas that are for greedy organizations.

Now for blizzard this is genius they are going to make so much money off of chinese rmting.
