Kicked from Syrcus Tower? But why?

So I'm in Group C during what seems to be a very quiet Syrcus Tower run. It seems like the other groups are conversing with each other, but my group specifically is absolutely dead silent. Despite there being 6 Bards overall, we are obliterating enemies and bosses. We even killed Glasya before the platform jumping phase. I'm not getting hit by anything and I'm doing what I'm supposed to during fights. We get to Amon and just as the Main Tank pulls, I'm kicked from the dungeon. There was no reason given, and absolutely no dialogue within party or Alliance chat about anything. Right now I'm feeling more aggravated that I'm left trying to figure out what in the world could have led to a kick, which I have a few main theories about:


A) 2 pieces of gear dropped, one was Lancer boots and the other was a Bard Belt. the Bard belt was an upgrade for me, but I was planning on just dropping the Soldiery Tomestones on an Allagan piece. When they saw this they probably predicted I was going after the oil which isn't necessarily untrue and decided to kick me so that they had a better chance at winning it.

B) For some reason this was a pre-made run that wasn't full, and when they discovered there was someone there who actually needed things from Syrcus Tower they decided to kick for whatever reason they felt entitled to. If this is true, then why would they make a pre-made that's not full and decide to kick for the simple reason that I'm not in their little circle?

C) Possibly too many Bards in the group as a whole, but as I said before, we were smashing content to where I wouldn't want to mess with the formula. It could also be that they were farming their Nexus upgrades, even though ST isn't the place to do that efficiently and kicking someone because they don't have their Novus is it's own brand of stupidity.

Is there something else I'm missing? Some actually legitimate reason why I was kicked from the smoothest Crystal Tower run I've ever seen that warranted no explanation or notification if I was doing something wrong? (I did this on my Bard)

Its likely B. You served your purpose, and they saw no more need for you, because you were after the same thing they were. Its hard putting our faith in RNG-sus sometimes, so sometimes we choose the latter, which is kick the odd man out, to make life easier on us. Its selfish, yes, but if you had the chance, you'd take it.

So I just did my first Syrcus Tower run since the new 2.38 patch and I think I know why they chose Amon to kick me at. The run I just completed dropped both an Unidentified Allagan Tomestone, and an Oil of Time after the Amon fight. It then proceeded to drop them again after Xande as well as two Sands of Time. What really hit me in the gut though is that everyone in the group passed on the final pieces of loot because we had expended our gear drops for the week.

I've seen this happen too often. Now I don't roll on any loot and just let the timer run out as it will extend into the following boss fight preventing the ability for the kick function to be used.

Which is why the Kick Function needs to be changed. Abusers will use this to their advantage, yes you can just report them, but stopping them from ruining your run, thats impossible.

^This! I know if you really need a piece of loot, you'd have to wait until like 5 seconds or when the boss is pulled, but it really helps against people kicking between bosses so they can get the loot they want.

Also, I don't understand the kicking thing... if one of them is not party leader, someone else will choose to replace a dps, THUS getting someone else that will be rolling on the items that the first person was kicked for.

Yep. This. People who deserve to be kicked take advantage of this. No reason not to do it yourself for the sake of self defense.

Two things to do if you don't want this to happen or to report people who do it is like stated above don't roll to they can't boot you the second is at the start take a screenshot so if you are kicked you have a list of names to hand over to gms.

It just seems a little weird that people would do this when these items are dropping like candy now.

Maybe a FC member / friend of theirs wanted to join them, so they kicked a random person (i.e. you) in the hopes that he would get in by joining in progress.
