    SMN's Tri-disaster needs a slight change to be useful

    It's not a long message to post on, but it is something that came to mind about this spell for SMNs. For a long while it never bothered me until now while playing SMN and I always wondered why I never touched this spell other than blizzard II. I get it that it does the same as bliz II regarding AoE, but what cripples it is the dmg itself making it unreliable to use. Here's my solution into fixing that problem/

    Instead of making it the dmg potency of 30, change it to where it's a dmg potency of 80, but reduce the binding time to 8secs. No need to change the cast/re-cast time nor the MP cost to use it, it will give smns decisions to use their MP wisely or it'll drain quick. I believe that slight change can make more smns use it especially if they are doing speedruns w/ DoTs and Bane. Won't be too OP, but it'll give a chance in killing the use of blizzard II.....kinda?

    What do you think?

    It's just meant to be a crowd control skill due to the long Bind time. A shorter cast time outside of PvP would be nice.

    But as a damage skill? No

    Though the length of the bind is pretty irrelevant if even a fly landing on the target breaks it. I'd actually take something like the OP suggested just so I have to stop going in melee for Blizzard II. I hate having to do that to pull decent AoE.

    You know I never thought of that to tell you the truth. I absolutely forgot that for bliz 2 you have to be in close, but tri's yalm's range it'll be safe for smns to constantly use it w/o worry about moving from mob's AoEs and can do good AoE DPS IF the potency dmg changed. It would really benefit SR players in the end if they want to choose smn for it instead of 2BLMs at times.

    That's true. But I think the idea is to bind a deadly mob away from from the group to deal with at a later time.

    I like having TriDisaster for that Alex map with the Puks. You can bind them all in place and then send Titan over to pick them all up. If the duration was shorter it wouldn't work as well.

    Baned DOTs dont remove the bind, and its a targeted AOE as oppose to around char AOE.

    I think they should up the potency on it to match B2

    True, but unless you're soloing something, you won't be the only character doing AoE, so the bind is going to last all of 3 seconds at the most. Useless.

    Nothing's wrong with that at all, but I think SMN has enough solo tools that it doesn't necessarily need another one that geared for solo content. I can't speak to PvP though; by the time I thought about trying it, the queue times for frontlines were just way too long.
