Personal Housing Complaint Thread

Hi there.

Since I'm clearly not the only one quite disappointed with what the patch notes have to say about personal housing, I suggest we use this thread to complain about it.

If you're disappointed, pissed, upset or peeved about personal housing being the very same as FC housing for individuals - same wards, same prices - make your voice heard here.

Honestly, charging an individual the same amount that's still too expensive for many FCs and not even providing a separate housing area for individuals is nothing short of a disgrace in my opinion.

Let's keep this thread active until SE open their eyes and come up with a different solution.

Agreed. We played FFXI with an inn room that was essentially our personal housing. We all got one, for free. We could decorate it, we could garden in it, we could craft in it. We could invite friends in. All on fairly crappy pc's (by today's standards) and the PS2.

I'm an extremely casual player, sort of a little anti-social at times so not great in the forced FC community, not so great at earning a ton of gil, but I get by. I was so looking forward to having my own house, so I could raise my chocobos and do a little gardening on the side on whichever alt I happen to log into.
The housing dream for me has died. I'm not going to bash SE, I'll continue to log in for the forseeable future, but I'll tell you what I just did...I registered for the EQNext beta.

The idea behind this thread is to make it the one, big complaint thread that's kept on the front page with the combined disappointment of everyone who's been looking forward to personal housing for months. I am aware there are a few other threads related to this topic, but I think it's better to try to have the whole discussion in one thread rather than spread out across a few smaller ones. A huge complaint thread that stays active is harder to ignore than a bunch of small ones that sink into oblivion.

The only solution is instancing which means no neighbors or a metric ton of new servers to support a a house for literally everyone on your server. Personally I felt it should be the size of a small FC house and limited to a single garden plot and a Choco stable.

However I was 100% certain no matter how they implemented this someone would be unhappy, though this is beyond even what I imagine. I'm the only one among my friends who has anywhere near this kind of gil. Disappointing but I know full well there is no easy way for SE to ensure everyone can get a house without really paring down what you can have.

It seems they have something in the works, I'm not sure what the 2.4 wards will be like. Also even those that could afford say a mansion on their own, why would you?
