I suppose I've read the developer's blog entry in a different way, but I digress... Odin and Behemoth are treated pretty much on par in the game, and Odin has already given away all of its armor (almost all of it. I still want the cape and shield), so at this point I'd be happy to have Sleipnir as well.

At least it's a horse with its joints in the right places.

This better not come from the Fanfest NOR collecting all the elemental horses though.

A several things in the 2.38 patch were done in preparation for 2.4. There was also a recent reply by a staff member on the request for Odin's Shield saying that things were in the works to make it available.

We may be looking at a preloading of a trial to be added in 2.4X.

While the development team does not have a time frame for when Odin’s Shield will be implemented, there are plans to add a way to obtain the shield in the future.

I think what will happen is this will be tested at the Fan Fest and then later tweaked and implemented into the game. The fact they put some lore behind it makes me think it will also released outside of the fan fest. There was also a interview a couple months back and one question asked if Odin would be more relevant to the story/game at some point and I think the response was that he would be. I'd have to do some digging to find this interview though. Since it seems Shiva is the last new Primal to be added in 2.4 I think maybe 2.5 will focus on Odin (i hope)

I really hope that this isn't just a fan-fest thing. I would love for there to be an Odin trial in the game.

I wonder if this is just a pre-lude and Odin is going to be the main Primal of 2.5? I believe that they said before that they wanted the 2.x storyline to end with an event on the same scale as the "end of an era". Well the other Elder Primal going on a rampage could well do that.
