Puppetmaster Job for Final Fantasy XIV (2. Job for PUG)

    Puppetmaster

Pupp in FFXI was a melee damage character with hand2hand weapons just like Monk.

    My Suggestion:
    Pugilist class

    1. Job: Monk (h2h damage dealer)
    2. Job: Puppetmaster (h2h petclass)

PUPP could be the second job for the Pugilist class. Just like the ACN has two jobs (SMN & SCH).
He uses the same weapons just like monk.

    - reduced damage by 40% in comparison to MNK and PUG
    - customizable pet - the ,,automaton": equip your pet with different skills/attachements;

    some attachments examples of FFXI:
Turbo Charger II - A wind-based automaton attachment. Functionality: Decreases melee physical attack delay.
Vivi-Valve II - A light-based automaton attachment. Functionality: Increases "Cure" potency

    - 4 different types of ,,automaton frames": BLM , WHM , PLD , RNG

    Types of automaton frames:
    Basic Automaton

    ,,Stormwaker" frame (RDM)

in FFXI: ,,The Stormwaker frame's melee attacks deal blunt damage. The Stormwaker has low defense, low evasion, low HP, and high MP.
With the Stormwaker head, it is often referred to as the Red Mage Puppet. It has curing magic, enfeebles, and elemental nukes. It will only cure the Master and itself."

    ,,Spiritweaver" (BLM) frame

    ,,Soulsoother" frame (WHM)

    ,,Sharpshot" (RNG) frame

    abillities in FFXI:
    - Daze is a one-hit piercing attack with a stun effect
    - one-hit piercing attack that (possibly) ignores the target's defense.
    - Armor Shatterer Delivers a fourfold attack with a additional effect that Weakens defense, the additional effect duration varies with TP

    ,,Valoredge" frame (PLD)

So PUPP cant have all these ullities at once, only some of them if he has the specific pet out with the specific attachments.

Lastly a video of PUPP automaton frames:
    Chosing a PUPP Frame VIDEO

    PUPP Job Armor

Last but not least.. we already have "automatons" in this game:

    Farewell:

I know a few people in my FC that would love a puppetmaster class in FFXIV. They were head over heels in FFXI for them.

animals in this game are not that interesting as in FFXI in my opinion.

and as for pupp... they dont even need to create a new basic class. it just could branch of pug.

If only PUP had been a usable job in FFXI. I freaking loved it. I loved leveling my Automaton's abilities more than anything. I also liked how the PLD frame used a scissor-hand instead of a sword. It just sucked how expensive it was to get all of the abilities for your pet, and how the job remained useless even after you did.

Something something too complicated for players, something something. Probably also known as "We're too lazy to put effort into this class/job so goodbye".

Who knows, maybe we'll see it someday but if SE keeps going on about their "making this MMO accessible for everyone" it's probably not very likely :/

PUP is too complex a job to be in XIV, or at least to be done properly.

If BLU is too complex, PUP is even more so.

They could introduce it as essentially an MP-less SMN, but it would be a shadow of its former self without the Puppet customisation options.

Also to your suggestion, Yoshi said that pet management was "too hard" so that double kills PUP. It's a shame really. So PUP would be some DD/Healer with a puppet pet add one for shits and giggles.

Puppetmaster was a terrible class, and was not even that fun to play. It appealed to probably 1% of the playerbase. The other 99% were playing Blue Mage or Corsair.
The attachments costed gil and the good ones were fairly expensive. Also forget customization because there would be a BiS setup that you would have to use to even be taken seriously.

I would rather ANY other FFXI class.

It's the same with everything in this game. It's all vertical progression, no room for unusual builds or gearsets. I wouldn't single PUP out for this. It's the same as saying there's only one set up for BRD's novus and you have to use it to even be taken seriously.

Also, while it was certainly a less popular job everyone I know that played it to 75 absolutely loved it as much or more than their other jobs.
