Do you actually have to use the duty finder for main story line?

So the usual debates about the story line dungeons are people watching the cut scenes and the harassment of new players. Alot of it is met with "well just use the party finder if you want to watch CS" or not be with people who expect you to play the game how they want you to play, and if you don't get met with resistance.

So with that, can a first time run through a main story dungeon be accomplished with the PF and receive credit for it when the quest log clearly states to us the DF? I have never actually tried it, wonder if someone has.

But if the PF cannot be used for main story, then it kind of negates all this, "use the PF if you want to watch cut scenes" debate. As some players may never run that instance again, or just wants to enjoy the game as intended.

If it can, great. Then that is what I will do to finish off the last 2 instances.

It can, any quests that say "use the duty finder" can really just be completed with a fully preformed group rather than relying on the duty finder itself putting a group together for you.

The reason it says use the duty finder is because that's the only way to actually get into the duty, the party finder is just to advertise parties to the whole server, the leader still has to enter via the duty finder it just pulls the party straight in rather than waiting for other players.
