HQ 40 DUR equal level with following skills...

    I currently have access to:

    SH II
    Hasty Touch
    Careful Synth
    Waste Not I
    Manipulation
    Rumination
    Tricks of the Trade

I'm currently leveling WVR to get Careful Synth II, but I'm having trouble reliably HQing 40 Dur items like Undyed Velveteen. I'm currently level 25. Does anyone know of a decent way to maximize quality with limited DUR?

    are you using HQ material?
Weaver was the first class I leveled, so I didn't have any cross class (except maybe hasty Touch), and I don't remember having any problem with HQing items like the undyed velveteen...
and I was just using Great Strides before any HQ-increase ability xD

Sometimes you just have to get lucky on those 40 durability synths. Assuming your gear is up to date you're probably doing everything correctly. Before BB and CS2 getting 100% quality on 40Dur isn't always going to happen, or at least not in my experience.

while it isn't 100% I have found that using manipulation and hasty touch combos work pretty well, using manip at 20/40, and ToT at each good proc. if you can get 3 manipulations, usually you have like 8-10 inner quiet stacks, and can hq it with a standard touch and careful synth at the end.

I suggest getting CUL to lvl 50 asap, the Reclaim and SH2 skills are amazing.

I actually made a macro last night to handle making lower level things but all my classes are 50 so it might not work the basic concept should still work through
    /ac "Inner quiet" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Master's Mend" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Master's Mend" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Brygot's Blessing" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Careful Synth II" <me>

I had ~376 CP with food and I think I only had ~10 left (why the last 2 are hasty not basic) You may want to just switch the basic touches with Hasty touches and just loop that part till you can't then careful synth to finish

It also depends whether you are willing to make all of the mats manually, or if you prefer to use a 1 button macro for it. I'm personally a 1 button person, and with 244 cp, and 100 of both craftsmanship and control, a good start would be something like:
    /ac "Inner Quiet" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Waste Not" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Manipulation" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Standard Touch" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Careful Synthesis" <me> <wait.3>
    /ac "Careful Synthesis" <me>

Now this would need to be edited based on what your actual stats are. if you have more than 276 cp, you can add a great strides in front of the last standard touch, to get a bit more oomph.

http://ffxiv.lokyst.net/ is a great place to test your potential rotations. I personally use it all the time.

    Hope this helps.
