More often than not (Specially if you bother to watch the Live Letters), it feels like Yoshi and their team are totally disconnected.
They say they use the forums as feedback source but I am highly doubting they truly are and even if they were, it wouldn't be the best way to gather info.
If they're going to continue to copy WOW, then at the very least try and copy their testing process and add a PTR.
Yeah, peoples' arguments that a PTR would give players early advantages are silly IMHO.

You can, you know, have a restricted access PTR (like isolating content for testing such as a server stress-test for Hunts & the like).

Not every PTR has to give early, exclusive access to raid encounters, etc.

If they open PTR to everyone, there really is nothing stopping anyone from going and "practicing" encounters. There really is no exclusive benefits or unfairness there. I think that if they were to test things on a PTR they would have found that Twintania freeze bug early on, or seen how hunts are going to be mobs, and many other things.
To get people to play on it they could maybe offer small rewards like a minion for testing certain features for a set amount of time. Nothing game-breaking but enough to encourage people to test.
