most efficient way to level DPS classes

While I'm not new to the game I haven't seriously focused on leveling a class in quite awhile. I'm looking to cap my BLM and PLD hopefully by next patch and was wondering what would be the best method to leveling my BLM? I know PLD I can spam dungeons to level the quickest but BLM I can't since queues are dreadfully long. So in your opinions what would you recommend? Should I just sit in queue as BLM and farm FATEs or run around doing leves (currently capped) to level?

The low level roulettes are useful, but the fastest way for dps to level is still fate grinding. The innate killing power is simply too powerful when brought en masse. Unfortunately, it's difficult to party for those while in a dungeon or guildleve queue. Consider running beastman quests once you're at the appropriate level for the turn-in. Those will also help level while you wait in queue.

Don't forget also the Challenge Log gives you exp and gil bonuses for completion, which resets every week on a Tuesday, as well as the Hunting Log for your class, although of course that's not repeatable.

Burning through FATEs and levequests is probably the best and most efficent way to level though, which if you're a DD class calling on your chocobo for healing (assuming you've put SP into the healer role) will be a big help.

Yea my chocobo is currently a healer and I just haven't messed around with guildleves so not sure if they're worth doing over FATE grinds/waiting for dungeon queue. Think I might try doing FATE/dungeon queue until I get my first low level roulette done then do leves but can you do leves with a chocobo out?

You can do normal (non-GC) leves with a chocobo, but not GC leves.

Whether battle leves are worth it vs. FATEs depends on a few things. There are some leves where you can dash through them and ignore a lot of the mechanics/enemies to turn them in quickly. For example, the collect-the-bottles leve in Costa del Sol. Enemies spawn every time you collect a bottle, but you can just run to the next bottle, pick it up, and move on before the enemy can even hit you. It makes for decent XP/hour, especially since you can do it with the maximum +level difficulty right from the start.

Most leves where you actually have to fight are not that great. If there are other people around doing FATEs, FATEs are almost certainly better. If you'd be pretty much soling FATEs, cheesing the leves you can cheese through might be better.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

fastest way is to team up with a tank or healer and queue for specific level appropriate dungeons, as opposed to using low level roulette solo.
If you must go solo fates in a zone slightly under level to you.

Oh, I almost forgot. As a BLM, you can speedrun up to the first boss of Dzaemal Darkhold with a tank, healer, and Bard. That is technically the fastest way to level starting from lv.44, but you'll certainly want to shoot yourself in the head while doing it.

Queue up for duty roulette, guildhests, and dungeons, then do FATEs as you wait.
