Imperial Assaults Where & When?

All I can add (for Camp Horizon attack) is that a NPC with a Chocobo will appear at 14:27 on the map, to the west of the moutain, right north of the camp. Talk to her to register to the event, waves of Imperial Soldiers and wolves will then appear coming from the west.

They indeed give no exp/sp but they can drop +3 gears, got a Canvas Dalmatica +3 yesterday.

At the end, a coffer spawns where the NPC was and gives Deaspected Crystals (I usually get 5~8). It also unlocks an achievement on the Lodestone the first time you do it.

I am still trying to find out if there is a timer involved but for now it seems random to me, definitely less that 41~46 hours though. It happened again after 28 hours yesterday for example.

Can you please post the time that you saw the event? Someone said it has a 4 hour period then its gone again for 2 or more days.. I want to do this but considering im most likely going to be at work im going to have to plan to do it.

Hmm less than 41-46? I'm sure i stood there for almost 2 days checking it once an hour (except for when i was sleeping) and I never saw it in my logs.

This is the NPC you have to speak to to take part and receive the reward from. He appears at 37:48 in the South Shroud - I've seen him there twice anyway.

There's 2 achievements - one for talking to Roysia or Alfgar about the attack (The Empire Strikes First) and then one for taking part (A Taste of Victory).

Roysia appeared for around 30 minutes and shouts periodically too.

The Militia Outrider was on the other side of the tree in the picture.

You don't gain SP though, but I received 7 deaspected crystals for taking part. On the two occasions, it was around 7.30pm on 23rd July (GMT+1) and 3.30pm on 25th July. Been too busy to play since alas. Hope that helps!

I got this on Aug 2nd, around 10PM EST at Bloodshore. There were a lot of imperials to kill too, AoE is great. NPC that was there was Roysia.

I got 2 achievements from it.

A Taste of Victory
Holy Dragoon (Mysidia) has helped fend off an imperial assault; however you fear there may be more to come.

The Empire Strikes First
Holy Dragoon (Mysidia) has spoken to someone who witnessed and imperial attack on Eorzean soil.

About 10 minutes later I spotted another huge wave of imperials crossing the fields, North of Bloodshore as I was questing.

Also, how far away from the camps are the Militia Outriders? For example, if you are standing at the Aetheryte, will you notice them on your minimap or to you have to run around different areas hoping they appear?

I don't know about Alfgar, but I've only every seen Roysia at Tranquil, never in Gridania itself.

The Outrider was near the Aetheryte in Tranquil. Normally when it's there it seems to be marked in green like all the other NPCs. With the one at Tranquil, the Outrider was just a little way north west, in the first big clearing on the path heading back towards Gridania.

Hmmm... So you can't see the NPC from the Aetheryte @ Tranquil then, so essentially you would already have to know the positions that NPCs spawn in order to find them and participate in this event. Not a very smart idea.

Maybe I'll just try camping Tranquil rather than Uld fountain (and hoping), I really just want to get these achievements before they are removed.

I guess I was lucky as there were lots of people also in the area who were all talking about it then headed off so I was able to follow them. Yellow Gremllin have the Outrider marked on the map in the South Shroud and Thanalan:

This is also where I saw him, so it sounds as if that's where he normally appears.

Also, the Imperials seemed to be spawning between where the outrider is and the new settlement Buscarron's Fold. They ran south from there to the outrider unless people engaged them en route.
