Thread: Can I have it? Dancer/Singer

Was flipping around Youtube and looking through old favorites and stumbled across 1000 words, it was then that I remembered that Singer was a class in FFX2. Now I'm a big proponent of adding Dancer as a playable class in ffxiv the most logical thing would have been to make it the advanced form of thief or rogue but Ninja is slated for that position. This had me sad for a while but now i'm all excited again because dancer is not dead in the water. In FFXI Dancer was added as a tank/healer hybrid, and with little effort and some imagination I believe Singer/Dancer could be either a tank or Healer class combo in ffxiv. Some will say this is a really bad idea, the same people who hate the idea of bluemage or beast master being added and kick puppies and kittens for fun. I think we need a new tank class and I'd like to see dancer in game enough to suggest Singer sorry in advance let the flames begin!!

I really want a Dancer in our setup, but I'm losing hope.

My vision for it using SE's model for this game the base job is Singer or possiby Diva, I know this is supposed to be bard's job but bard doesn't do a good job of it so. Singer starts out as the lead singer taking center stage in a party perhaps maintaining hate by some means using song to enrage and taunt an enemy to them with aoe's while boosting party members attacks, accuracy and crit rates to pull massive hate and small aoe regen heals. Later about level 20-25 similar to how it's set up now for all classes Dancer could gradually take the stage becoming the primary class and using Singer or Diva's tanking abilities along with it's own dancing dps moves to become an evade tank. Using ffxi's model Samba's for strike debuffs, Waltzes for low cures and evasion buffs to maintain easier hate, and steps to inflict enfeeblements. Using Fan blade stance or Blade dance stance a player could dps or tank as needed in either solo or group format similar to how whitemage switches between cleric stance and normal mode to do damage or heal. In Fan blade stance Samba's are less effective, in Blade Dance stance Waltzes are less effective. Of course weapon of choice would have to be either punch daggers Fan Blades or some form of short sword so it doesn't overlap with ninja. For AF the Etoile set from ffxi would be more than sufficient. I saw it mentioned that dancer was very capable of soloing most world content and that is true but in this game that is true for every class, even whitemage which is surprising. I don't really see the issue when people talk about soloing classes since they can all hold their own alone and in groups with efficiency.

Even better develop Diva or Idol as a song based evasion tank at 15, and dancer as a dps at 30 can do it many ways and it will be uniquely Japanese for the Idol aspect. Just an off the wall idea.
