Option 2 needs some work, as it currently stands you are putting emphasis on raiding over everything else by creating all-encompassing terms. A game is not as black and white as "raider or not." If someone's passion is raiding, that makes them a raider. If someone's passion is crafting, they shouldn't be shoved into a singular "non-raider" with everyone else. No, that person is a "crafter." If someone's passion is helping newbies through quests and dungeons, that person is a "teacher." If someone's passion is living within the world, that person is a "role player." I can keep going, but the point is that all play styles are equally important. If you wanted to make a post to see who raids, that's fine, but you should of just worded it as "hey do you raid?" A simple yes or no suffices there. As it stands, the original post makes it seem like is only one way of playing the game, by raiding.

Hardcore Non-Raider by your definition, but I find your definitions fairly shallow. I find percentage of content completed tells more about how "Hardcore" or "Casual" someone is.

Mid-Hardcore Leveler: 3 level 50s and all other classes are Level 30+
Mid-Hardcore Relic Hunter: Roughly 30% done on Curtana and Holy Shield Nexus with only 1 other Relic.
Hardcore Sightseer: I've seen all the sights and have the 3rd rarest pet in the game. (Fledgling Apkallu)
Mid-Hardcore Primal Killer: Only Primals I have yet to kill are Ramuh (EX), Mog (EX) and Levi (EX)
    Mid-Hardcore Raider: T5 cleared
Hardcore Beast Tribe Negotiator: All Beast tribes were finished at the earliest possible date.
    Mid-Hardcore PvPer: PvP Rank 35
Mid-Hardcore Elite Mark Hunter: Have killed each Elite Mark at least once and purchased all the Sands/Oils I needed for 1 set of weathered gear in the first 3 weeks of patch 2.3.

Hmmm.. almost fully done all of these except that sightseeing log thingy, so i guess definiton for myself would be a "No-Lifer" as i can easily spend 60h in a week(8-10h a day)and i dont even logout from game anymore when going to sleep. Also i would raid every week but we are currently doing some tank rotating so only every second week is coil for me, and no i do not PuG coil2 for obivious reason we all should know by now thus i rather miss out one lockout and wait for nextweek so i can enjoy said content with my FC.
