    Ninja, the new Dragoon?

    I saw that ninja had a few abilities that involved jumping or teleporting to the target. Will they be animation locked? If they are, I guess we can start to expect a lot of dead ninjas who can't get out of aoe in time.

    Looks like the dragoons won't be alone anymore.

    Its not even the animation lock that's gonna kill them. Its just gonna be the fact that they're still not able to dodge a brick, even with a movement bonus that other classes don't get.

    I'm not quite so pessimistic myself; but that being said, the really funny part is that one of Rogue's abilities is to jump on the monster's head and stab it. Assuming - which is dangerous - that this actually updates the character's position, that forces him into any circular AoEs for the entire duration of the ability. So... you know.... don't use that on any Cyclops, Chimera, most Trial bosses, Peistes.

    What if this move actually becomes a dodge mechanic? IE during this animation AOE's have no effect on the player.

    The actual teleporting thing looks like it will be really clumsy to use on controller. Like all those other ground targeting abilities, I'l probably teleport right off platforms ;x

    then it would be unfair with dragoons, since jumping literally takes you far far away from bosses actual range.

    Dragoons asked for this before. In XI "Super Jump" shed hate and dodged all attacks. They were told no. I think they said it would be unfair or something. So if they put it in for Ninjas..

    melee classes have disadvantages in this game with all those grounded AoEs from the enemies.

    sure, good melee players will be fine but what if you compare those "good" melee players to "good" ranged class players?
