unable to launch ffxiv updater

whenever trying to patch the speed slowly drops to 0.00mb/s stays there for a while and pops up the error message, unable to launch ffxiv updater. both my friends have this problem and one friend havent been able to play for 3 months now, the other friends game broke 3 days ago, which completely wasted her 90 day sub and now my other friend is about to waste her 90 day sub. we literally tried every single possible fix we found on google, reddit, forums, etc with no luck at all. extremely frustrating to see this problem existed since beta and affected so many players and yet still have no fix. so does anyone here have managed to fix this error? we could really use some help since support is ignoring us. thanks

you might try using Google DNS, this has fixed this issue, as well as Guild wars launcher issues for many people.

yeah we tried it, didnt work sadly
