Steps:
Depending on the amount of zoom the affected screen space varies. The further you zoom out the smaller the 'incorrect target' area becomes.
Attempting to click any NPC or Player avatar within an inch or two (of screen space relative to cursor position and position model is drawn to screen) of my character does NOT target the NPC or other player.
Attempting to click another NPC or Player who is clearly several ingame "feet" (malms?) away from my own model and not overlapped in any way by my own character model are utterly unclickable from almost every angle which puts my character model closer to the camera.
For example:
- Approach any cities Leve Counter
- With the camera positioned at a natural position (i.e. not pushed inside the leve counter)
- Attempt to click either of the NPCs
- Ensure that your character model is not obstructing the NPC and you are clearly clicking the NPC and not your own character or someone else
- You will still end up targeting yourself.
The severity of this is such that any character within roughly 10ft of my own becomes un-targettable with the mouse; unless some odd or drastic repositioning of the camera occurs. This can also completely remove the ability to quickly target some smaller enemies at close range (Marmots and Fireflies are particular repeat offensders) as well as friendly NPCs in tight spaces.
