Why is Housing Such a High Priority?

Am I the only one who feels like way to much time, effort, and resources are being put into housing by the development team?

I mean, housing is neat and all, and it's fun to make your own place, but seriously how important is it? I'm not saying that the progress should stop on the housing and land plots, but why is it such a high priority?

I personally would adore to see more endgame content, new jobs, dungeons, zones, and other action related content before anything else.

I, like many others here, am a FFXI vet, and one of the things that made XI so great I'm regards to my personal opinion is the immense job diversity. We are getting Ninja, and that's great, I'm very excited about it, as XI players will recognize by name it's the job I want more than anything, but I just feel like working on more jobs should really be top priority.
