What is SE is really behind these bots? To stimulate the economy... Clearly they're not doing anything about it.

Even if one were to buy into the idea that they'd choose direct participation as their means of market manipulation (instead of adjusted drop rates/NPC prices/etc.), why on earth would they create a bunch of obvious bots (of various kinds, even) instead of just creating items/gil directly and dumping them into the markets? The latter would be a lot more efficient, a lot easier to implement, and a lot less visible.

Even if they were doing that, I am amazed this thread has almost 200 posts on it and they haven't said anything. I didn't read the entire thread... did they really not respond at all?

We've had no response whatsoever. Like I stated, I've reported the Balmung N.Shroud brand of scum when they were in S.Shroud, outside of Amdapor Keep. Not a single thing has been done to them since, so although we joke about them being some form of economy balancer for SE, I'm seriously starting to believe they do belong to an employee. There is literally no other feasible explanation.

The thing is, they mess up the in game economy... in the real world, those bot subs are filling SE's coffers just like yours and mine do.

Somehow, I doubt SE cares what happens to the in game economy, esp with how little action they ever seem to take against RMT's and bots, despite their claims of "Actions Taken Against In-Game RMT & Other Illicit Activities" which could very well be a load of Moogle poop and just PR lies to make it sound good.

No way to prove it either way though, and they know it.

They were just botting Earth Sprites in Western Thanalan and have reconvened in lower Limsa X6 Y12 to trade with their spiritbond crafter.

Not a single response from the CM team. I am dividing my time between actually playing the game and scouting and reporting the same bots in the hope one day they will be banned.
Quite disappointed that I can't even get a "we're working on it" or even a "please look forward to it".
