Lately I've been noticing a reemergence of a form of hacking. I say "reemergence" because I hadn't seen this used since nearly a year ago. Anyway, I've been noticing mobs suddenly fighting something not there. Earlier this evening I was in Eastern La Noscea, waiting for a FATE that I needed for one of my Animus books. Suddenly I noticed the nearby coeurl attacking something, but there was noone there. Then I noticed, beneath the ground that these coeurl were attacking, the messages stating when this individual took damage, gained Astral Fire or Umbral Ice. They stopped for awhile, my guess is that they noticed that I was there. Since I couldn't target them, much less see them, I couldn't get a name to report.

The /stagger emote is basically what this is. Also, this thread is a prime example of why showing names on screen shots should be allowed. GMs obviously don't ban some botters (can you say "under the table?")

Anyone else see this type of suspicious activity ?

Basically you'll have a large # of characters that belong to 1-3 FCs with giberish names wearing the same exact things. They either hang out AFK by an aetherite or by the summoning bell by the market board.

If you target the mob you can see what they are attacking and you can get the name that way. fyi

I've seen some invisible bots, but problem is they are mining bots, so there is no monster to target to get their name.

It's funny cause I noticed some flying in the sky in gridania in the rafters inside the adventures guild but you had to go into first person view to see them.

Same gathering bot I mentioned earlier in the thread. Except now he's in Eastern Thanalan. I reported him again.
