I wish people would stop bringing this up... You lost nothing; they took a 0 off of your Gil, and they took a 0 off the cost of everything in the game.

They did this with very good reason; to close the gap on returning players and existing players. They could have just removed all your Gil and then everyone would be on the same footing, but they decided to give us a break and just cut a 0 off everything. Apparently a year later new and returning servers still aren't balanced as far as economies go, so maybe they should have just removed all our Gil.

I don't even see how this matters to this topic, either. You saved in 1.0? That's nice. You also had a year of ARR to save in as well then, where they practically brought back the ridiculous Leve rewards (I can get 1,500 Gil off crafting leves, by 1.0 standards that's 15,000 Gil). If you cannot afford a small house at this point, you're doing something wrong. I didn't save up Gil in 1.0 since I was late to the party (came back just in time to kick down Darnus) and I can afford several small houses, were there actually any left to buy. Going for a medium size though, which I cannot afford, until a few weeks pass, then I can.

I still want an explanation how gating people out of what is standard content for an MMO keeps RMTs away. I said it in another thread, the ridiculously high prices has made me consider buying gil for the first time since there is no way I will want to spend the time playing the market to get silly amount of gil I need for my house and I bet I am not the only one.

All SE is doing by gating content behind high prices is driving people into the arms of gil sellers.

His lack of insight is really worrying - he somehow does not understand (nor getting it) that by raising prices, it makes people WANT MUST NEED to buy gill so that they can have a chance to own private housing. If you give everyone FREE room for housing and gardening (SEE FFXI - best way to give free things to all) - suddenly it will loose its value, and no one needs to buy gill, killing RMT in the process. I really suspect they made some sort of deal with RMT...

some people don't complain about the price, but the lack of space mostly... without say, that the personal housing is the same than the FC housing on some server it's simply impossible to get a house now.

Considering those bots are sitting on millions and millions of gil, wouldn't that be part of why he thinks we are all super rich?

Also, from what I've gathered. The account management team monitors the gil retained by every player, monitoring how much gil passes through. Any suspicious amounts are subject to bans. They also ban like 500~1500 accounts for these once per week.

Several MMO companies including FTP ones would disagree with this. This here is the only one that seems to just invite them in.

I would not mind the housing be an achievement; what I do mind is that it's all and only about gil, something that tempts to exploit gilbuying greatly.

FC houses to me should have required actual Company work. Such as "Earn XXXX amoung of Company Credits, Clear Raid X times, Defeat X amount of EX Primals with only FC members in your party" and so on. That's how I'd like to earn my FC all.

And the same should've happened with personal housing, too. I'm not saying to have it handed over like the Mog House in FFXI, but hell, give us something fun to work on in order to get us a house instead of mining crystals or farming fleece all day.

And for the love of Go-blins, make personal housing instanced. Yours servers will never be enough.
