I agree - "try" is the operative word here. They already know that they are at server capacity and I really wish they would rethink this whole thing. We don't need huge instanced zones for people to have personal monuments to themselves. We just needed a basic mog house as part of the Adventurer package, something they were somehow able to do on servers two decades OLDER than what they have now.

It's sad, really.

Thats the problem. These housing wards aren't instanced. They're static - and they exist whether or not people are in them. This means that they take up physical server space, unlike an instanced world. If they take up physical server space, then they cost physical money. And if they cost physical money, they will exist in very limited supply. And a very small micro-fraction of the population will get to enjoy this feature.

I take this as a direct insult to all the players out there who where saving for a long time (prior the release - first for FC housing and now for "personal" one) based on the "vague" and IMO intentionally missleading pricing info just be slapped into face a find out that their very hard earned savings caused the house prices to increase 10 fold. Sorry Yoshi - you've FAILED!

Maybe they actually think RMTs would actually buy up houses, hold the plots hostage and sell the accounts with the house if they were cheaper. Who knows.

Actually I just did some research, cheaper housing cost would promote RMT sales more than expensive housing cost. On the 2 websites I looked at "by just googleing Gil for sale in FF14 and picking the first 2" the real world cost of buying 5 mil in Gil was from site #1: 21,657 dollars and from site #2: 24,000 dollars.

It didn't make since to me at first because I never looked into buying Gil but now it does. I don't know about you but I don't have an extra 20,000 real life dollars laying around to by a fake house. If I did I would use it as a down payment for a real house and not live in an apartment. If you don't believe me google it your self and dye of sticker shock.

Opps. Your right, now I feel dumb lol. I had a blond moment and didn't notice the K in the Gil amount. So I did my math on it being 2,000 Gil instead of 2 million. Durdadur.

I'm going back with my original thought that I posted previously in this tread about how it doesn't make sense.
For 20 dollars I can buy the Gil for a house. That's a little bit over my monthly sub how is that supposed to deter anyone.
I guess they can just hope more people are like me and feel like its cheating to buy Gil.

I think someone is either looking to get ripped off or more likely did their math wrong. I see in-game spam where they claim to sell 1 mil for 5 USD, and I report every single gil spammer. So that should come to like $25 USD and not $25K USD. Pricing things in gil, regardless of what it is (housing, glamours, minions, etc.) is going to be vulnerable to gil spammers one way or the other. It won't make RMT any more attractive or less attractive. People that want to violate the TOS will do so regardless what there is to buy with gil.

I just looked as well (using that post's exact string) - 50 bucks will get you 10,000,000. Someone needs to recheck their google-fu
