Blank Launcher

Getting error -2146697211 this morning. Have tried running as admin, tried resetting comp, have tried resetting internet explorer to default settings, have tried renaming both config files, have tried power cycling router, have tried ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release and /renew, IE was already up to date. . .

I'm out of ideas, and it seems like this is all that the forums have ever suggested. Anyone have any better ideas? As it stands, I'm sitting here waiting to see if it'll fix itself like it broke itself. I'm kinda sad that at no point has SE ever chimed in with a solution to this; nor did they respond when someone suggested maybe they should stop using IE as part of their launcher. . .

I have been having the same issue...the thing that really gets me is that i just renewed my subscription for 60 days today and purchased collectors edition along with digital download. I can't even launch it. I'm pretty upset about that.

I agree entirely. I hope there will be some sort of compensation for all players with subscription time lost...I forked out roughly $70.00 on all my FFXIV stuff today and cant even play it. Atleast give us a couple days free or an additional week even for inconvenience.

Up to nine hours unable to play. Meanwhile, one of my attempted fixes apparently flagged my account for suspicious activity, so I need to reset my password. . .only the Mogstation claims to be undergoing maintenance that isn't listed anywhere on the forums.

Still not working for me either...that's one sub day wasted. If i don't get reimbursed for my time lost I will not be happy and someone will be hearing about it. On top of that it's the weekend and I can't even get live tech support help until Monday. This is total BS.

So, apparently something on SE's end doesn't like my Korean ISP. In order to log into anything, I have to use a VPN to get a US IP address. Seriously, in order to get the launcher to load, I have to use a VPN. In order to get the mogstation to load, VPN. In order to log back into the forums, VPN. . .

It shouldn't be this difficult to do anything on this game. In fact, it wasn't until a few days ago. What happened?

With reading this, and everything else you've said im going to put forth the possibility that your ISP is the sole cause for it all, have you tried contacting them to see if there is anything stopping you from accessing the client launcher's web server?

I think it's half my ISP, half SE's sites. Even before this, Mogstation was hit-or-miss. I would contact my ISP, but I get the feeling that to handle this I'd have to start dealing with a language barrier. I've basically already told my FC that I'll be logging on whenever this gets fixed (or fixes itself like it broke itself). Until then, I'll be working on some platinum trophies over on my PS3. . .

I am in the US and i still cant even get to the launcher. I've been getting boot error since friday. I really dont understand. What is VPN? I'm able to navigate the site, check profile, FC, forums and all no problem but when it comes to booting the game i get an error everytime. I've tried pretty much everything you previously mentioned already, still no luck. I'm going to get a hold of someone by phone tomorrow and get to the bottom of this. I have no idea what it could be...I havent recieved a registration code for digital download by email yet, that wouldn't cause me to get a boot error would it?
