    Mistake?

I wasn't aware 1080p TVs could run in 4:3 resolutions, let alone ones with more vertical space than they can display.

Well it's windowed mode it seems and this would work. But I guess a few lines might be missing(like 120) ;o

Nah, I use the VGA port, instead of the HDMI, and the standard max resolution is 1600*1200. I've tried the HDMI and I don't like the way it looks, for some reason it just doesn't look right, might be the HDTV. Anyway, that and I don't like being forced into 1920*1080 with the HDMI being the max. Unable to force higher.

A few months ago, I used to use 1920*1200{forced}, but I built a new PC desk and the HDTV sits back further than it used to so I dropped my resolution to 1600*1200 so I could read it...lol

Apparently 4:3 is an option on this HDTV, and it works great...never had any issues with it, even in full screen. And oddly enough, I can also run 16:9 & 16:10 using 1600*1200 just fine too.
