    Carebear FF14

Unfortunately I have been excused from these forums before so I will watch my words.

Currently their are only NA / EU / and JP servers.

Unlike other MMOs their are RP and other sorts of servers.

If what I say doesn't sprout rainbows and hugs I seem to be yelled at by GMs and the community.

I ask for a hardcore server. Dedicated to PVP extremes and fierce competition.

(A prime example of a a successful long term MMO is a competitive market and player base pinned against each other) All in all its a game, but I would like to play it in competitive form that breeds a challenge to log on and strive to be better at what I love to play.

Can anyone agree or am I the black sheep?

Not enough rainbows, OFF WITH HIS HEAD! :P

Yoshida mentioned that a PvP server /may/ be possible with /enough demand/, you have a sliver of hope I guess? Yoshida is a huge fan of PvP.

I can't agree. Perhaps this is not the game for you.

I also would add that using the epithet "carebear" is not going to win you any points.

Pvp is what kept "WoW" alive and on an international stage; not its dungeons.

Ugh, WoW PvP. Did not want. I was one of those players ruining them for holiday achievements.

It was a bit of both and now the game is feeling what it's like to lose their PvE crowd in China because the game is too casual now. I lived off world pvp in WoW, ganking players doing their dailies at Tol Barad for hours. This game sadly isn't built for pvp and it will always lack the world pvp I want so desperately. PvP balance in this game is a joke and while I did grind to 40 while getting my FL mount, it wasn't very enjoyable. Sometimes you just want to turn around and murder the idiot on your team. It will be forever carebear, so all you can do is put up or leave.

My cousin said pvp and flying around a world is what kept him playing.

also the huge fights on the outside and defending outpost from hordes. it was something to do while he waited for expansions.

FFXI was the same though we had stuff to do, sky runs, bcnm, ksnm, abyss, missions, AF gear quest leveling the grind kept people back in order for them to produce content, Al Zahbi's defense there is more stuff but mostly it was the grind for me it slowed up stuff lets you enjoy the game not speed passed it

Sorry this is NOT WoW and FFXIV does not need PvP to stay alive. SE specialize in PvE.

Pretty much. Besides, Wow would have been hugely successful even without open world PvP. It had the huge advantage of being a recognised IP by a respected company launched at a time when MMOs were a reasonably niche sort of game. It attracted a ton of players that wouldn't have played any other type of MMO. As someone who played from just after launch on one of the original PvP servers, I can tell you that PvP was incredibly easy to avoid if you didn't feel like dealing with other players while levelling. WPvP was never a huge selling point until Wrath and the invasion of the Halotards.

On the three PVE Servers I played, I often found horde players in alliance areas... (and vice versa) I wouldn't even think about heading to PVP Servers because of that.
