LS to help new players ^^ worth making?

Hi all,
I have went ahead and created a new player helping LS -- this is a place where new players can ask for help with dungeons, story quests/missions, and such. It is also a place where vets can offer to help the new players on our server and bring them into the LS.

The LS isn't ONLY for new players, but also for players new to 50. There is a lot of content that new 50s may need help with, and apart from roulette, it may be hard to find patient parties to do things like WP for the first time, or help out opening up Expert roulette. This LS is for those players as well.

I lead a FC that's based around this, we even have a reward system where we give rare minions, relic prerequisite, materia, etc. to the person who ran with the most lowbies in the FC each week. I also lead a similar LS but dedicated to a specific class (Gladiator). There was another LS like the one you're proposing called The Academy which was made by a co-leader and did very well until he went inactive. Unfortunately it seems that a lot of lowbies are hesitant to ask their FCs for help with things, or accept help when it's offered. One of the problems I'm now faced with is, we've been around so long that a lot of our members are all grown up. So when a lowbie joins and sees 3-4 low-level players and 15 level 50s, I think it scares them off of being vocal a bit. D:

I'd certainly encourage a LS like this because lowbies tend to be more willing to participate in LS than in FC. I'd join myself but I don't think there's a single LS I'd be willing to leave of the 8 I have.

Haha Storm :P I AM in your FC, ya know silly :P But yep, was thinking of making this specifically for that purpose -- to have many new players and a few vets willing to help out when needed ^_^v I keep seeing those cute sprouts and feel bad when they have issues getting things done or dungeons ruined due to i100s or something wanting speed runs of Sastasha :P I'll probably go ahead and make it and contact the people who have shown an interest here and any future ones

Holy crap I didn't even look at the name O_o Sorry, Lis I was surfing forums while busy at work. :P

Vai had created The Academy before your time in FD and people enjoyed it. There was a minor issue where it seemed to be a more FC-oriented LS at first and several of us weren't entirely happy about that because we felt left out, we like answering newbies questions within the FC and it seemed to separate newbies from the rest of us. Eventually it became more of a server LS and less FC-oriented and it seemed to do well, so I'm glad your advertising here, and you're welcome to invite FC people too, but please try not to focus the FC with it.
