If you wanna be a serious crafter, you'll have to get all DOH to lvl50 to get your cross class skills. I leveled mine in "packs". I leveling weaver and goldsmith, culinarian and alchemist together. I left alchemist and culinarian at lvl40, then got weaver and goldsmith to 50. Then culinarian and alchemist to 50. I did the same with the last ones; arm bsm crp and ltw all to 40, then crp and ltw to 50, then bsm and then arm. I say the hardest part is to meld your stuff. I first max melded my accessories, so all my glasses have that melded. Then I max melded culinarian, so I got my artisan spectacles for all of my classes and my artisan main hand for cul. Right now I'm melding my weaver (chest pants and gloves are already melded, only off hand and boots left) to get my artisan main hand. After that it's going to be goldsmith, then either carpenter or leatherworker. If you wanna meld all of your classes, I'd say to level goldsmith and miner first. Craft your own accessories to spiritbind and only buy your IV materias if you're not lucky. I'd say it's very time consuming and is a long process. Especially if you're spiritbinding; it takes time spiritbinding, but also crafting the stuff to SB, and gather shards to craft said stuff. When I got into crafting I stopped caping my soldiery and didnt even set foot in ST, I was only raiding coil 2 with my static because all my time was dedicated to gathering, spiritbinding and crafting raid food to make gil to buy IV materias I couldn't get myself. I love it though.
