DOH are addicting like Crack lol. If you start to level one of them, you realize pretty early that having only one crafter doesn't bring you anywhere. Crafters start to make sense (earning GIL and beeing able to craft something for yourself) when you have them all levelled up to 50 because of the cross skills you need essentially for high end crafting. Additionally, it makes sense to level and equip all DOL as well so you can supply yourself instead of having to buy every single mat from the market board.

But the Journey doesn't end there. In opposite to combat classes that earn their gear through Dungeons quite easily, you have to put a lot of time and efforts into the DOH gear including overmelding. If you want to have crafters that are able to craft 2-3 star recipies, you better bring in some Patience and Gil or otherwise you might be dissapointed. Crafting is nothing that can be done quickly unless you only aim to craft receipes below Level 50. It is a long time process - it took me almost half a Year to overmeld my gear without having to pay millions of GIL by spiritbonding a hell lot of items for example. But imo it is worth it - but this is a question you can only answer yourself after trying it out. I'd say you need some dedication for sure if you want to be a crafter and it is nothing you do "a little bit". Either full package or let it be.
