Patch 2.38 exposes THE TRUTH about the goblet

I remember a small thread a made http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ore-attractive.

Which pointed out the fact the vast majority of the community thought the goblet looked like a housing project not a neighborhood when compared to the beaches of the mist or the wonderland called lavendar beds. I only got 15 thumbs up and a slew of people opposed to them making the goblet more attractive. NOW that personal housing is available...tell me why people STILL aren't buying property in the goblet? I'll wait for ONE person to give me a viable answer the reflects the notion that the goblet is UGLY and needs to be remodeled.

My FC house is technically in the Goblet and I have to say...I think the area is ugly, dull. Tan.

I was hoping for personal housing to be a homerun implementation so I could frolic in the Lavender Beds, but looks like that's on the back burner for at least a month, bleh.

A low percentage of the population plays Roes compared to the other races. It doesn't mean they need to be redesigned. It's all right to have aesthetic choices available that appeal to something other than the majority.

I got my house today in the Goblet. I'd hoped for Lavender Beds, but all the plots were taken.

That said, Goblet was my no.2 choice. I'm not a fan of the Mists.

The most of housing benefits are for noncombatants. Crafter needs calm place to work (city market is too noisy) with fast access to market board, retainers (can be placed into FC house), aetherial (distinct supplier) and a house (fc supplier).
So, the best place for this is Lavender Beds. Mist is more "vertical" (stairs everywhere) but is still green and looks nice. The Goblet is vertical too and is 100% stone in addition - bad look.

Maybe there are another reasons, but for me this was the most important.

Its a desert, since when does a house in a desert look good? Unless you're some warlord or a dictator.

I got my house in the Goblet too, because Ul'dah was my starter city since i'm a PLD. The city has a special place in my heart.
