    I might have been hacked, what to do?

    Hi I have problem with my account I might be hacked.

    Today when I tried to log on game with security token it did not work as usual it acted like it was the first time I used it. Then I tried to log in at SE weppage and it would say wrong password. I then tried to remove the software token so I could log in and fix it but again it said wrong password but I'm sure I used the right one I have it written down.

    Is there any way a account can be hacked when I use software token?

    I don't know what to do, anyone who have had this problem too?

    Ok sorry I figured it out i am not hacked

    I can only say when you write down your info about account etc make sure to be very precise about it. I don't know why my software token did not work as normal but I removed the old one and made a new one for my phone so now it works again and I am very happy again

    This is just for anyone else who may potentially be hacked, or think they might be.


    The question:
    What makes you think you are hacked?

    The situations:
    Received an email stating that "Log in has been restricted due to suspicious activity"?
    - You're account has not been compromised. Repeat, has NOT been compromised. This is a simple (automated) restriction put in place when it shows your account is being accessed from a different location. This can mean a friends house, your house (dynamic IP address, you had a black out, reset your modem, ISP doing internet tests in your area, etc. So sometimes you really don't have any control over it. You can stop them by adding a token) Kind of like WoW! All you have to do is change your password.
    - All else fails, contact the support center.

    Password not working/email not resetting password?
    - Try changing it. Shit happens, what are you more worried about, your password staying the same or the content within your game?
    - If you have a phone token on the account, go to the settings and hit the "Synchronization" option
    - If the token is asking you to register again, use the Emergency Removal Password (ERP) to remove it
    - If you're an IDIOTand DIDN'T write it down, contact the support center, they can remove it.
    - ALL USERS: if you're changing the password and it's not working, chances are you have another account with that email. Try using a different email!
    - PS4 USERS: if you're changing the password and it's not working, the PS4 does this weird thing (Already addressed my SE) where if your email address is your.name@email.com, it will change it to Your.Name@email.Com (It capitalizes the first letter, and any letter after a period)
    - On that note, the email on the account is case sensitive. Get over it.
    - All else fails, contact the support center.

    Don't know the security question and answer?
    - Try using a different spelling of it
    - Try using a different question with a different answer
    - (Similar to above) Try using a different email you might have, it is very possible you have multiple accounts.
    - All else fails, contact the support center.

    Now, in the case that the account has actually been compromised, it can only be done by talking to them directly. So give them a call or get them on chat, and they can help you out. From what I hear, it isn't an expedited process, but they are able to. So just be patient. And maybe next time try not to get the account compromised, because in the end, it is always your fault.
