    Halatali Boss Fight Strategy, help!

I'm a new player and I joined the duty roulette yesterday for the daily dungeon. I got given Halatali, and as healer (Scholar), I fluffed up the healing for the group. It was at the stage where she has about 1/3 of her hp, and something happened to nuke the party to about a third of their health.

We made it on the third attempt, after i stopped panicking. But is there any strategy to deal with that attack? Is it scripted? Or is it to do with the lamps in the room? Are we too close/far from the boss? Thanks!

The lamps need to be "turned off". Party will take some dmg, but not a big deal if they turned off asap.

If the little floaty fires from the lamps reach the boss, there's a big AOE that hits hard. If the last floaty fire thing from the lamp, which is slightly larger and has more health, reaches the boss, the AOE is worse. The DPS (and the tank, and you) should be killing those adds ASAP to make sure they don't reach the boss.

Which is a pretty good general rule for pretty much every boss fight up until 50: if there are adds, kill them first.

Ahh, I got my dungeons confused. I was in Haukke Manor (which also has the spirit lamps in the corners of the room).

Oh. Then what samnas said. The lamps pulse AOE damage until they're turned off. You can't prevent it starting, so there's always going to be some damage. But the faster people (the DPS and you) click/interact with the lamps, the faster that damage stops.

Haukke makes more sense. I was very confused by the initial comment about being a new healer and being a Scholar in Halatali.

So just rush to put the lights out as quickly as possible and try to heal through it? Thanks everyone! Sorry about the misnomer in the title, I got my dungeons mixed up.
