RainbowWeaversUnite!
So I guess I'm going to make another crazy thread again. This time the subject is Summoner. This is in response to the 3 or so threads floating around right now giving their ideas on Summoner, so thought I'd give mine. The title may imply that this is going to be another FFXI Summoner style thread, but I guarantee you its not!The Summoner I've come up with is a Multitude of jobs dependent on the Summon you use and your preferred play style. Please enjoy.
Mechanics of an FFXIV Summoner
->Summoning
-Basically you will play the summon from the perspective of your character.
-There is an initial casting cost to bring out your summon.
-FFXIV Summoner will not require a perpetuation cost.
->Summoner and the Summon
-You and the summon are synced, you share MP and TP, but not HP.
-If your summon dies you will suffer blood penalty proportional to the HP of said summon.
-Summoning (casting) puts a high enmity strain on you (because summoning is kinda flashy), so it is best done before engaging a foe. After your cast gets off enmity will be reduced, and normal things should be able to pull hate off of you.
-Your summon will have a time limit before it is automatically released, there will be a timer to indicate when this will happen, plan accordingly!
-YOU as the character cannot act while Summoning, you may only command your Summon, essentially becoming it from your perspective, (The only thing you may not do is control its movement, but you may position yourself as you please.)
-You must remain in battle mode (active mode?) while your summon is active. If you switch to passive mode, your summon will de-spawn after 10 (more or less) seconds.
->Taking Actions
-Each Summon is Comparative to a different job/class. Summoner has great potential to be multi-purposed as there is no denying that every summon is different.
-If you do not have a summon out, you are free to use your own actions. Otherwise actions are channeled through your summon. I.E. (If you desperately need to cure yourself, have cure set on your summon and he will pop cure on you. Its is the exact same thing as curing yourself, just the cast is coming from another object.)
-The summon will be able to inherit some of the transferable skills from class to job. I.E (Ifrit gains his native conjurer skill of Fire. Ifrit also can use Mainly Pugilist and may a few other DoW skills that you have learned.)
-The summon will also be able to have its own skills.
-Each summon will have its own point pool for actions.
